Sleeve: A huge white fluffy cloud with flecks of blue sky breaking through. Redolent of times and hits past, perhaps.
Sleevenotes: By Geoff Coles and Tony Marsden are the most detailed I have ever seen, giving the year and chart position of each song throughout the world. Packed with old pictures.
Content: 48 songs bounce around the years and all the group's finest are here including I'm Alive, Carrie Ann, Gasoline Alley Bred, He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother, Bus Stop, Just One Look, Jennifer Eccles.
High point: The Air That I Breathe - an ode to "true", probably first, love.
Low point: Bob Dylan's Blowin' In The Wind was murdered.
Omissions: Nothing glaring.
Anything new?: How Will I Survive? Nothing flash.
Excuse for release: This 48-song double CD chimes in nicely with The Hollies' 40 years on the pop carousel.
Where might this end up? Being replayed whenever I see a new crease on my face...
