IRISH rugby union international Guy Easterby is set for a return to his native Yorkshire after signing for Premiership newcomers Rotherham.
The Tadcaster-born scrum-half was released by Llanelli at the end of the season after the Welsh giants were forced to cut costs under the restructuring of the domestic set-up in the Principality.
However, the 32-year-old, who is poised to be part of the Irish World Cup squad, had no shortage of admirers and has opted for a return to his former side Rotherham.
Having signed from Harrogate, former Ampleforth College pupil Easterby enjoyed a successful spell at the Millmoor-based club, before heading to London Scottish and then on to Wales where he first played for Ebbw Vale and then Llanelli.
Easterby, who is part of next month's Ireland touring party to Australia, Tonga and Somoa, will not leave Llanelli empty-handed though, with the popular number nine having helped guide the Scarlets to the Principality Cup title.
