WANNABE thespians in Pocklington will soon be getting to grips with the Bard.
The York Shakespeare Project is running a workshop on Shakespeare's popular comedy, The Taming Of The Shrew at the Oak House, Pocklington's civic arts centre, on Saturday.
The workshop, for up to 15 people, will be led by director Paul Toy.
The Taming Of The Shrew will be performed in Pocklington and at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York next month.
In the show the three female roles will be played by men while women will play nine male roles, including the main suitors, as well as assorted townspeople, officers and servants.
Mr Toy said: "The workshop will involve exercises, interpretation of the text and looking at male-female roles both in Shakespeare's time and the present day."
Anyone interested should phone the Oak House on 01759 301547.
