THREE teenagers who are dotty about dancing have each been offered three places at prestigious dance schools across the country.
Amy Boyes, 16, of York, has to make a difficult choice between the Northern Ballet School, the Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre and Urdang in London.
Caoimhe McCabe, 14, of Crayke, near Easingwold, has been offered places at Tring Ballet School, Hammond Ballet School, in Cheshire, and Legat Ballet School. Finally, Gemma Whitehead, 16, of Clifton Moor, York, must decide between Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre, the Stella Mann Dance College and Studio Le Pointe, in Leeds.
All three currently study at the Red Shoes Dance Studio, based at the Railway Institute in York, and are set to follow a career in dance. Sandra Watson, who runs Red Shoes, said she was proud of all three girls. She said: "I've seen them grow up really and it's nice to see them get something out of it. A lot of children come to classes for fun, and that's great, but it's nice when you see a few of them with capability get ahead."
The studio, which celebrates its tenth anniversary next year, is performing Jazz It Up at the Grand Opera House tomorrow and on Saturday. The Grand Opera House can be contacted on 01904 671818.
