TWELVE new hospital beds are being wheeled into Selby War Memorial Hospital thanks to the generosity of local people.
The friends of Selby War Memorial Hospital have donated £10,000 towards to cost of the beds, which will be used throughout the hospital.
The money was raised by a number of fund-raising activities including the annual summer fair and through public donations from the local people of Selby.
Dr Sue Ross, chief executive of Selby and York Primary Care Trust (PCT), who operate the hospital said: "We are delighted to accept this Friends' donation.
"To raise such a large amount of money shows the strength of feeling people in the local community have for Selby War Memorial Hospital."
