AN EXCITING line-up of events has been planned on the topic of forestry for this year's Great Yorkshire Show.
The new Forest In Your Life 2003 exhibition will take visitors on a journey exploring how the forest affects their lives.
In the main forestry events arena, guests will be able to watch the annual Great British pole climbing championships and new events the North of England axe throwing competition on July 9, and the UK loggers competition on July 10.
Elsewhere in the forestry area, experts will compete for prizes in the Timber Disc competition.
Youngsters up to the age of 13 will be able to follow the Forest-Timber Trail quiz, which will involve a trail in the pavilion and nearby woods.
Just outside the forestry pavilion will be the new Great Yorkshire Show forestry information centre, a one-stop shop for all trees, woodlands and forestry enquiries.
