In 1937, two optimistic young climbers were landed by small plane on the Walsh Glacier in the Canadian Yukon.
For Brad Washburn and Bob Bates it was the start of a climbing expedition to conquer the "impregnable" Mount Lucania (17,150ft), at that time the highest unclimbed peak in North America.
The adventure turned into a month-long fight for survival.
The intrepid Harvard Mountaineering Club men trudged through terrible snowstorms, crossed perilous crevasses, encountered avalanches, suffered freezing temperatures and dwindling food supplies.
The trailblazing mountaineers' battle through the wilderness was an incredible journey into unchartered territory facing many trials and tribulations along the way.
This is the saga of an heroic struggle against the odds - a real Boys' Own adventure. Truly gripping.
