MY wife and I went to see the play Reunion at York Theatre Royal last week.
It was presented by Hull Truck Company and I must say well done to all those concerned with this marvellous production.
Written by John Godber, it was a send-up of television game shows and how poor they are, and acted by an excellent cast of five.
Godber hit the button every time with the over-the-top compere down to the contestants that will do anything for money.
This was a great example of theatre at its best, enjoyed by a large audience. Compliments all round for proving that there are good plays about, all leading up to more "bums on seats" which is what we want for the Theatre Royal, and not for it to have to go "dark" like the Leicester Haymarket.
So, citizens of York, keep supporting your local theatre.
