York City Baths Club swimmers returned with two gold, five silver and five bronze medals from the North Eastern Counties Sprint and Team Championships held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
The girls' 13 years and under, 4 x 100 metres freestyle team excelled themselves as they finished second to book a place at the National Age Group Championships to be held in Sheffield at the end of July.
The York team of Michelle Moffatt, Hannah Petts, Rachel Eastaugh and Alice Sunderland will join Teeside as the North Eastern Counties representatives.
In the sprint events Lewis Porylo won gold in the 17/18 years 50m breaststroke and Chris Burns also took gold in the 12 years 50m breaststroke. Silver medals came from Sophie Calpin in the 12 years 50m butterfly and 50m breaststroke, Sophie Glasby in the 10 years 50m backstroke and Rachel Eastaugh in the 12 years 50m backstroke.
Bronze medallists were Alice Sunderland in the 13 years 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke; Hannah Petts in the 12 years 50m backstroke and Andrew Fowler 14 years 50m breaststroke.
Other York swimmers posting personal best performances were; Alice Lawrenson, Eilidh Macdonald, Mairi Macdonald, Sarah Benton-Rose, Alex Fowler, Olivia Lawrenson, Becci Jenkins, Fiona Siddall, Katie Feehan, Kate Hollier, Lauren Mason, Lauren Horsman, Laura Cuttill, Nick Boaz, Phillip Graves, Tom Southam, Tom Davies, Bradley Swainston, Chris Holmes, Matt Reed and Luke Hutchinson.
