NORTH Yorkshire service area Under 15s produced a good all-round team performance in defeat against Calderdale.
J French was prominent for North Yorkshire but silly errors in the second-half enabled their lively opponents to run out 28-12 winners.
French and T Mackley scored a try each with S Mackley converting two goals.
An outstanding first-half forward display, in which Ross Divorty excelled, set the platform for the North Yorkshire outfit to gain their first win in the service area fixtures at Under-14 level.
After leading 22-4 at half-time lead, North Yorkshire found Calderdale much more competitive after the break but still ran out 36-12 winners.
Try scorers for North Yorkshire were Millward (2), Parker (2) and Allan (2). Allan also kicked four goals.
Good performances came from Divorty, Millward, Parker, debutants Watson and Huller. Scott Jackson was named man of the match.
