WHILE on holiday in Scotland I was amazed at the rail links and the outdated way of boarding a train.
From Inverness on the line to the Kyle of Lockalsh at the small station, you put your hand up to stop the train and to get off you tell the guard your stop.
Those in the south would be amazed at the spectacle of seeing the train come to a halt in this way.
There are times when some of the old ways work well in some of the remote areas of Britain.
