SCARBOROUGH chairman Malcolm Reynolds has revealed that contracts are to be exchanged for the sale of the McCain Stadium to a local developer on June 6.
He said: "There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes and I am confident that all the matters that have had to be addressed have been progressed - including extensive talks with the local authority concerning planning matters and the lifting of the Covenant that has been on the ground for some years.
"This will be a significant day for the club, as it shows that we are very serious about relocating to the new site at Eastfield - which is what we have to do in order to generate additional income streams to help the club survive in the long term."
On the playing side, the club has revealed that the reserve side has resigned from the Avon League.
Manager Russ Slade said of the move, "It was our intention to use our youth team as the basis for the reserve side, but when that had to fold last season it became difficult for us.
"But we shall be arranging games against local sides - like York City and Hull City - as well as other non-league clubs to look at trialists and keep our squad players fit."
