YORK Cricket Club have a testing weekend ahead with Bank Holiday visits to Appleby Frodingham and Hull sandwiching their third round Sunday visit to Guisborough in the ECB National Club Knockout event.
The home of Appleby Frodingham, the Lincolnshire-based steelworks team is renowned for failing to survive bad weather. As they currently are in a lowly League position, it would be disappointing for the Clifton Park side to lose the fixture to rain.
Hull are a much-improved side with a strong opening attack in Aussie Jason Varos and recently returned Mike Sergeant enjoying the support of a steady batting line-up. York include leg-spinner Tom Pringle, available after exams, for Dave Catlow tomorrow. At Hull Rob Flack and Marcus Wood are unavailable, so Will Warne and Andrew Kay step up from the seconds.
Nigel Durham's men have a tough task at Guisborough who are the reigning North Yorkshire and South Durham League Champions.
Last year they beat Yorkshire League club, Sheffield Collegiate, only to fall in the semi-final of the KO Championship. The unavailable Flack is replaced by Pringle.
