THE Archbishop of York is throwing open the gates of Bishopthorpe Palace for a charity fun day.
Dr David Hope is pictured here with one of the vintage cars that will be on display at the event, in aid of Martin House Hospice for children and young people at Boston Spa. The open day will take place on Saturday, June 28, from 11am to 4pm. Visitors will get the chance to look around some of the beautiful rooms at the palace and see the gardens. Admission will be £2.50 each for adults, with children going free.
Martin House fundraiser John Dowson said: "We're delighted and thrilled that the Archbishop of York, who is also patron of Martin House, is allowing this event to take place, come rain or shine.
"We are organising a full programme of entertainment to suit all tastes, including music, children's activities, displays and much more. Do come along and support your local children's hospice and have a great day out at the same time."
