THE best of contemporary sculpture is set to bring new life to the grounds of a North Yorkshire hall.
An exhibition of around 40 original works, including examples by the internationally renowned Sir Anthony Caro, Wiliam Pye, Peter Randall Page and Nicola Hicks, will be on show at Newby Hall from June 1.
Sponsored by Christie's, the exhibition will be the third occasion in which sculpture has been on display at the historic hall.
Local sculptors Steve Blaylock, from Harrogate, and Anthony Sturgiss are working on local pieces which will take note of the woodland and orchards in the hall grounds.
The sculpture park will be open until September 28 every day, except Mondays (but including Bank Holidays ) from 11am to 5.30pm.
All exhibits will be for sale, and many of the sculptors are also available for commissions.
Richard Compton, owner of Newby Hall, said: "I have always been passionate about three dimensional art and the importance of supporting contemporary sculpture in the UK."
