LAST week Education Secretary Charles Clark announced that £217 million was to be given to schools. This is in the wake of threats of teacher redundancies.
Yet what is not generally known is that this money is not available for all schools.
Once again most of the money is going to schools in the inner cities and large towns.
Areas such as North Yorkshire will again miss out.
When is someone going to notice? Is it fair that children in the shire counties should have less money spent on them? Is it their fault that they have to work in underfunded schools?
Despite this they continue to perform well. Someone must notice soon before it is too late and the schools fall down because there is insufficient money to maintain them.
