CHILDREN will be able to keep the half-term blues at bay with a sports fun day at Selby College next week.
The event will be on Wednesday, between 11am and 3pm. There is no charge for taking part.
Activities will take place in the sports hall and on the playing fields of the college in Abbot's Road.
Organisers say there will be something to please children of all ages and abilities, with a girls football tournament, salsa demonstrations, remote control cars and a penalty shoot-out.
There will also be a coaching session with Paul Newlove, who plays rugby league for St Helens, England and Great Britain.
The event has been organised to launch the Selby Sports Partnership, which consists of Selby College, Selby District Council and the Abbot's Road Tenants' and Residents' Association.
Selby MP John Grogan will be attending the fun day and will present a cheque to the partnership as well as competition prizes.
