A FASHION show and art exhibition was held at Askham Bryan College, near York, as part of a celebration of work by students with special needs.
The open day and exhibition was for students on specially developed courses known as DAYS or Develop and Accredit Your Skills. The students study part time and can choose from a range of practical subjects such as
mixed crafts, home furnishings, sewing and dressmaking, decorative paint techniques, personal development, gardening and upholstery. Course tutor, Pam Murray, said: "The standard of all their work is incredibly high and we have been delighted that so many people have visited the college to see their marvellous displays.
"The courses have been such a success that we will be running them again, starting in September, and adding new subjects such as computing and fun with numbers and words, patchwork and caring for small animals."
