PUPILS at an East Yorkshire primary school got off to a flying start at their first trampolining contest.
Members of the trampolining teams at Pocklington's Lyndhurst School, feeder school to the town's boarding school, Pocklington School, bounced to glory at the Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS) Trampolining Championships.
The school was overall winner at the competition, held at Millfield Prep School in Somerset.
Alan Dennis, head teacher, said: "Winning this trophy is a tremendous result for our pupils. Lyndhurst School became a member of IAPS last summer and our pupils have not competed at this level before. They have done extremely well and we are all very proud of them."
The Girls under-11 "A" team, Phoebe Cowley, Kaleigh Kilsby, Katie Peeke-Vout and Lydia Edwards, came first in their section, and the "B" team, Ellie Holbrough, Catriona McDermid and Holly Childley came tenth.
The under-11 boys team, Harvey Fenny, Julian Lawrence, Greg Berry and George Hardy, were runners-up in their section.
