YORK-BASED Persimmon Homes has been voted best residential developer for the entire Yorkshire region at the Variety Club Property Awards, beating off competition from Cala Homes and Crosby Homes.
The category was sponsored by Barclays Bank, and land director, Richard Smith, from Persimmon's regional office in West Yorkshire, received the award on behalf of his fellow chairman and directors at a black tie event at Rudding Park, near Harrogate.
The four divisional companies that make up Persimmon's Yorkshire division, situated in York, Beverley, Doncaster and Leeds, were judged by a panel of key industry dignitaries and Variety Club members, who commended each division for its strong product offering, diverse range of residential schemes and overall presence throughout the region.
Mr Smith said: "This award underlines the work we do across the whole Yorkshire region and is a standing testament to everyone's dedication to ensuring each of our residential developments are built to the highest possible standard, in the most desirable of locations." During last year, Persimmon's Yorkshire division sold 1,622 new homes, with turnover exceeding £192 million.
