DESPITE wet and windy weather, a good time was had by all on the first Tadcaster Community Bike Ride, organised by the Cyclists' Touring Club (CTC).
A total of 18 cyclists took part in the tour around local beauty spots, taking in Bolton Percy and Appleton Roebuck, where they stopped for tea and biscuits in the local church.
The cyclists completed a journey of about 20 miles before heading home for a well-earned rest. Colin Clarke, secretary for Yorkshire and the Humber CTC, pictured fourth from left, said: "It went very well. We had to shelter under some trees when there were showers, but everyone enjoyed it. It's the first time we've ever done this sort of thing, but we think we will hold another one in the future."
