Sheriff Hutton Bridge have made a promising start to the York Junior Cricket Association's Rawcliffes Intersport Under-15 League.
They beat Stillington by 20 runs and more impressively Stamford Bridge by 74 runs during which David Coverdale hit an unbeaten 105, the first century of the season.
Heworth also opened with two wins although the bowlers were on top in a low-scoring game with Acomb, Heworth winning by five runs with L Scrimshaw taking 6-6 for the losers and G Knott 3-6 for the victors.
In the Costcutter U13 League Sheriff Hutton Bridge have also made a good start with wins over Woodhouse Grange and Yapham.
In the first round U15 President's Cup Heworth beat Yapham by nine wickets, Stephen Sacks making 43 against Bridge.
