Former York City protg Cameron Stuart has been released by Aston Villa, whose manager Graham Taylor yesterday quit the club.
The ex-Joseph Rowntree was previously on the books of City, but spurned the Minstermen's offer of a three-year scholarship in favour of Villa.
The Midlands giants were later ordered to pay City £50,000 as compensation for the club's part in Stuart's development.
