TWO heavy goods vehicles and a car were involved in an accident on the A1079 today - less than two miles from the scene of an horrific crash on Monday.
No one was hurt in today's crash, which happened between Kexby and Wilberfoss just before 7am, although the driver of a truck, 42-year-old Jim Bennie, from Hull, had to be cut free from his vehicle by fire crews.
PC Steve Carmichael, of Humberside Police, said 61-year-old Edward Liversidge was driving towards York, turning his blue Audi car into a lane off the A1079, when he feared that the skip loader lorry driving up behind him would fail to stop and so sped off. the skip loader, driven by a 30-year-old Hull man, slammed on its brakes and Mr Bennie's truck collided with the rear of it.
