ON the lookout for some summer holiday reading? Then get down to York Central Library on Saturday for a one-off giant sale of unwanted books and audio CDs and cassettes.
The sale, which will take place from 9.30am to 3.30pm, is in addition to the library's smaller, ongoing book sale.
Assistant librarian Elizabeth Hobman explained that there would be a full range of titles on offer, including fiction, non-fiction, large print, children's books.
"We've also got a good selection of biographies," Elizabeth said.
Youngsters can take a trip to the seaside without leaving York on Saturday, May 31, when the library stages a Something Fishy storytime.
The event, for five to 11-year-olds, will take place between 10:30am and noon, and there will be a chance to have a go at lots of fun, fishy art and craft activities and to hear some stories with a seaside theme.
Admission is free, but tickets must be obtained in advance. For tickets or for more information about either event, phone the central library help desk on York 552815.
