YOUNG York rugby player Harry Hall, was presented with the first Joshua Scarlett-Abbott Memorial Trophy for his strength, courage and determination during the season.
The under-sevens player received the award from Joshua's father, Jonathan, and brother, Elliot, at the York RUFC Annual Medal Presentation Day on Sunday.
Seven-year-old Joshua, who played for the rugby club, die in October, from a rare aggressive form of cancer.
A fundraising appeal launched in his memory has so far raised almost £17,000 towards a specialist paediatric ambulance.
At the award ceremony a cheque for £1,888.42, which the club raised through a sponsored bike ride, was presented to the appeal.
