SANTA is coming to York early this year - and inviting all his younger friends to join him so they can enjoy a story together.
The event, for those aged six and under, is at the Friends' Meeting House, Friargate, on Saturday, December 7.
Children are being invited to register beforehand, to take part in a sponsored Christmas treasure hunt. They bring the form on the day and hand it to Santa and, as well as meeting him, the youngsters will hear a magical story in his grotto, have refreshments, and get a gift to take away.
During that time, their carers can relax with a cup of coffee and mince pies, in a break from the seasonal rush.
The event will support the vital work of Marie Curie Nurses, who work in the local community providing practical nursing care to people with cancer in their own homes, for no charge to the patients.
Ann Stockdale, of the York Marie Curie Support Group, said: "This is a fun way to support the local work of Marie Curie, so bring along your children or grandchildren for a magical morning.
"We are especially grateful for the support of the Friends' Meeting House."
