Junior talent was to the fore again this week at Raker Lakes as the precocious Team Gem lads took three of the top six places in the 30-peg match on Horseshoe Lake.

Wayne Nolan (Team Gem) made it back-to-back wins with victory from peg one.

Offering pole tight to the corner cover he alternated corn and cat meat for 64lb of carp to 3lb.

Stuart Holmes (Tight Lines) took second place. From peg 21 he fished floating pole and corn at 18 metres for an all carp 38lb 7oz.

Andy Gallant (Armley Angling) topped a good Red Lion match on the Match Lake at the Carpvale complex.

From peg 48 he opened up with a decent tench on cat meat to the island. A switch down the track brought the first of ten carp before a late tench boosted his catch to 40lb 12oz.

Bernard Guy (East End Park) fished pole with meat tight to the reeds from peg 24 for 40 small carp and 33lb 6oz.

The silver fish packed waters of Pool Bridge Farm came up trumps again for Sunday's 26-peg York Tackle open match, with over 400lb of roach and skimmers banked.

Carl Midhage (York Tackle) led from peg 18 behind the farm where he fished shallow feeding heavily with caster he netted 29lb 3oz of quality roach.

Dougie Featherstone (Malton and Norton) was on the old pond, where he offered chopped worm at 11m for 25lb 3oz of roach and skimmers.

Graham Broadley (Bob.Co) scored his second win in nearly as many weeks from the same peg, number eight on Ridge Pool, in Saturday's Bob.co open match.

Offering pole and paste tight to the point of the island he had a level 29lb of carp to 5lb.

John Allerton (Tri-Cast Whizzo) was on peg 21 on the same lake, where he used pole and pellet fished light for a mixture of carp and ide for 28lb.

Top weight from Goldrush was taken by Charlie Moran (Dick Clegg Ossett) who had 26lb 12oz of chub to caster fished shallow.

A tight contest on Maple Lake at the Oaks saw a field of 64 contest Sunday's open match, in which 26lb was needed to win every section.

John McGarell (MAP Elton) led from peg six, where he pole fished pellet tight to the island at 12 m for 37lb 4oz of small carp to 2lb.

Ken Ovenden (MAP Elton) used similar tactics to the winner from peg 21 for his all carp bag of 35lb 12oz.
