University Staff Ladies had mixed fortunes in ladies division one of the York Badminton League.
A 9-0 home defeat by the Railway Institute was followed by an 8-1 home win over Rowntree.
Li Zhang and Mamiko Morita top-scored in the match against the confectionery team taking three straight wins for 90-30.
Huntington Ladies clinched the division two title with a 6-3 home win over second-placed Market Weighton. Bev Terbutt and Angela Hobman took the only maximum but were pushed all the way by Laura Durston and Linda McDonagh before winning 9-15, 15-11, 15-10.
RI Tuesday/Thursday 'A' scored a 7-2 home win over Selby Jubilee 'A' in men's division one.
Ian Sinker and Wasten Siallagan topped the Institute averages with three straight wins for 90-27, while Neil Richardson and Pete Lund responded well for Jubilee.
Tadcaster grabbed the men's division three title after an excellent season in which they remained unbeaten.
Their final results registered a 6-3 home win over YUSC followed by a 9-0 away success over Market Weighton.
Phil Zealand and Mark Hanson were in great form against YUSC winning all three in straight set for a return of 90-29. Andy Brown and Simon Fletcher took two wins for the staff club in a good display.
Riverside 'A' had mixed fortunes in mixed division one, losing out 3-6 to Drax 'A' and then beating Clifton 'B' 5-4 in a tight match.
Clifton's Daniel Woolfson and Gerry Screeton took three wins for a total of 101-67. However, Nigel Stainforth and Margaret Sinclair clinched the Riverside win with a 15-12, 17-16 success over Ronnie Davison and Simon Christian.
Drax 'B' were pushed hard by Knavesmire 'A' before winning 5-4 in mixed two.
Dave Brogden and Joy Wilson put in the best Knavesmire display with three wins for 102-64, but Sharon Ross and Graeme Campbell sealed the Drax win with an 8 and 5 triumph over Ann Hopwood and John Major.
Drax 'C' visited YUSC 'A' in mixed three and won 8-1 after several close games.
John Formby and Claire Rainier top-scored for Drax with three wins for 107-81, including a 15-9, 15-17 win over Rachel Adamson and Andy Brown, who picked up the staff club's lone point with a 15-6, 17-14 success over Dennis Bradley and Angie Spivey.
YUSC 'A' had earlier entertained Selby Jubilee 'A' and won 5-4. Adamson and Brown topscored for the home team once again with three wins for 102-42, including the match-winning eighth with a 6 and 5 over Neil Richardson and Karen Shooter.
Huntington 'B', champions of mixed four, visited Drax 'E' and won 6-3.
Best display came from Drax's Adam Prescott and Sue Hardy who took the three home wins for a total of 114-75.
Knavesmire 'B' maintained their improvement in form with a 6-3 home win over Drax 'F' in mixed five. Mark Hopwood and Janet Brookes took an excellent maximum with three straight wins for 90-20.
In the same division, Selby Jubilee 'B' scored a 7-2 home win over Fulfordgate 'B'.
Simon Benson and Cath Walder were in good form for Jubilee winning all three for 99-85, but were pushed hard by Ruth and Alan Roberts before winning 5-15, 17-14, 17-16.
Riverside 'B' gave debuts to Julia McKinlay and Gavin Husband who are both aged 16, in their 7-2 home win over Scarthingwell in mixed six.
Julia, partnered by father Ian, took three wins for a total of 106-41 in a promising display.
