SEVEN-year-old Tom Carrington could show most adults a thing or two about getting fit.
He has just completed a 22-mile walk and is already raring to go on a gruelling 20-mile walk in aid of St Leonard's Hospice today.
Tom, who lives in Ashbourne Way, Woodthorpe, York, first started going on walks with his grandparents, who are keen ramblers, and he has now well and truly got the walking bug.
At seven, he was the youngest to complete the 22-mile Wensleydale Wanderer walk by several years, finishing the route in seven hours 45 minutes. A keen footballer, Tom raised £500 in sponsorship for his local football team, the Woodthorpe Wanderers.
This is not the first time Tom has donned his walking boots for charity. When he was only six, Tom completed the St Leonard's Hospice 20-mile walk.
His proud father, Simon, said: "He started off doing two or three mile walks and it just went from there. He has always loved the outdoors and really enjoys going walking."
