THE manager of a York bar was celebrating after he scooped a top national award and a trip to Brazil.
Craig Smith, who manages Casa, by Ouse Bridge, triumphed over hundreds of entries to become the Event Marketing Champion in this year's Laurel League of Champions awards. He was presented with the prestigious accolade by television star Jonathan Ross at a glitzy ceremony at London's Banqueting House.
As part of the award Craig will also be heading off to Brazil's Rio de Janeiro for a well-earned rest.
This is not the first time that Craig has been rewarded for his efforts as a pub manager. Last year he received the Pub Business Champion and jetted off to Mauritius.
The Event Marketing Champion award is given to managers who have planned, marketed and run outstanding promotions and events to build their business.
