AFTER finishing bottom last season, Wiggington Grasshoppers Under-12s have won the City of York Girls League.
They needed just a draw from their final game against nearest rivals Rawcliffe to take the crown and managed it with a 1-1 draw.
The Grasshoppers' girls won 12 of their 14 games and were beaten just once.
Their top goalscorerr was Laura Williams who netted 28 goals in only 12 games. Her twin sister Amy played her first ever football season and pulled off some crucial defending.
There are two other twins in the squad - skipper Abigail Shoobridge and her sister Rebecca.
