AFTER their comprehensive defeat at Scarborough last Saturday, York will be looking to get their Oxbridge ECB Yorkshire Premier League programme back on the rails this weekend.
They have a Bank Holiday double header against Barnsley at Clifton Park tomorrow and a visit to Cleethorpes on Monday.
Barnsley have revived somewhat in the last few seasons following the arrival of seam bowler, Martin Ivill, who, after many successful years at Sheffield Collegiate, returned to his club of origin.
Former Yorkshire Academy all-rounder Richard Wilkinson has also been part of the upturn in fortunes as they have built up a young and improving squad.
Following their mauling by Aussie Clint Heron at Scarborough, York might be concerned at facing another at Cleethorpes in State player Shane Deitz who, with 1,335 runs, scored even more heavily than Heron in 2002.
Last week Deitz turned to the ball and took four wickets in his side's victory over much-fancied Doncaster.
York include RAF Linton pilot, batsman Dave Catlow, who has just been released from Middle East duties and 16-year-old leg spinner Tom Pringle, who has returned from holiday in India, at the expense of John Hamlin and Will Warne.
