TRANSPORT plans in a North Yorkshire district are to come under the microscope.
Transport users and providers are being asked for their views on Hambleton District Council's draft transport strategy, with local people urged to have their say.
The strategy brings together transport policies and projects currently under way in the district.
It sets out the action the council proposes to take over the next five years, and its views on the policies and projects of other organisations including North Yorkshire County Council and the Highways Agency.
Steve Quartermain, Hambleton District Council's director of planning and environmental services, said: "We want to create a better, more integrated, safe and sustainable transport system which is capable of meeting the needs of local residents, workers, businesses and visitors.
"To do that we need to hear the views of everyone - users and providers."
Projects range from national level road schemes such as the Highways Agency's proposals to upgrade the Hambleton stretch of the A1 to motorway standards, to local community transport initiatives.
Copies of the strategy are available for inspection at the Civic Centre until June 6, or can be emailed on request.
