MEMBERS of York's Youth Parliament have created a new website aimed at engaging with young people in the city.
Backed by City of York Council's Youth Forum, the parliament's members have set up the website www.yorkyp.co.uk, which provides details about the aims of the body, information about individual members, and a message board, which young people can use to post ideas and comments. Beck Cantrell, from the council's youth service, said: "The members have already developed a monthly newsletter, which will go to all schools and council receptions in the city. The website is the next stage in the two-way communication between members of the parliament and young people in the city. In addition to providing information about the work of the parliament, young people can also use the site to air their views of facilities and issues in York. We hope it will create a lively discussion forum."
