THE mental health charity Mind has launched a booklet to help students cope with exam stress.
How To Cope With Exam Stress provides advice on how to prepare for exams, recognise if stress is getting out of hand and what to do if it does.
A spokesperson for Mind said: "Taking an exam is bound to be stressful. There may be extra pressure from parents, school or college to succeed.
"Additionally, if exams are not the only stress factor in a students life at the time, the extra load will be much more difficult to bear."
The booklet gives specific advice such as taking a break every hour, getting enough sleep, relaxation routines and controlled breathing.
It also advises students to discussing their problems with others who are also in the same situation.
The book also warns people to look out for more serious symptoms such as feeling out of control, loss of interest in life, binge drinking, dizziness or fainting and depression.
The booklet costs £1. For more information, phone 0208 2219666
