YORK'S three main political leaders today appealed to city residents to get out and vote in tomorrow's crucial council elections. Labour council leader Dave Merrett said: "The election will determine who makes key decisions on York's future." Liberal Democrat leader Steve Galloway said: "People in York know their vote will count. My hope is they will be decisive one way or the other."
Conservative leader John Galvin said: "I am a democrat and believe people should be duly elected at every level of local government. It is very important that people cast their vote."
