York and District Badminton League are assisting with the promotion of badminton for young people in the York area.
The session is at the Mount School in York next Wednesday for about a dozen youngsters who already represent Yorkshire and have to travel to Leeds to obtain advanced coaching.
The sessions will be held by Harry Jarvis, who is an experienced coach and is employed by the Badminton Association of England.
The League want to extend this activity in the nearer future to include taster sessions for young people in York who have not played badminton.
Sandra Pauw of the York Railway Institute Club has been instrumental in organising the first sessions and members of the York League will assist in the promotion and running of the taster sessions.
