YORK's Official Monster Raving Loony Party candidate, Eddie Vee, unveiled his Monster Manifesto today with the help of a lookalike of country music superstar Willie Nelson, who penned the big hit Crazy.
He said: "I got 18 votes before, and that was when I campaigned in the wrong ward. Maybe I can do better this time around."
Among Eddie's manifesto commitments are a plan to cut red tape by only letting factories make blue or green tape.
The "mad manifesto" also attacks road humps. "What they should do is take all the material used to make the humps and go and fill in some holes in the road with it," Eddie suggested.
Eddie, who has also called for unclaimed bikes at police stations to be renovated to create affordable transport for job-seeking school leavers, added: "Remember, one Loony candidate can make a difference."
