AN insipid inward nine heaved North Yorkshire golf ace Simon Dyson out of the business half of the Spanish Open in Tenerife.
Dyson was in perfect position to make the cut after the first nine holes of the second round as the Malton and Norton star started his second round at the tenth at the picturesque Golf Costa Adeje course on the island of Tenerife.
But then on the inward nine he careered to five dropped shots in nine holes, including a double-bogey on the par five first hole. Dyson finished with a two-over-par 74 - eight shots worse off than his first day 66 - and leaving him on four-under, but marooned with the half-way cut placed at five under.
