YORK RUFC's Youth Section will grace the hallowed Twickenham turf for the third success ive year after the Under-13s qualified for the finals of the prestigious Gulliver's Festival of Rugby at Nottingham University.
York, who successfully qualified for the finals stage as U12s last year, had to endure a daunting two days down in Nottingham before finally securing their place.
Wins over Bromley (24-7), Dursley (7-0), Harrogate (14-3) and Lincoln (35-0), a draw with Richmond (0-0) and a defeat against Fullerians (14-0), as well as Fullerians' victory over Richmond was good enough to see York finish second in their group and progress into the play-offs.
Here York met Dorking, who had won their group comfortably, and a battling performance, where the U13s' defence deserves special credit, saw the Clifton Parkers edge a 12-0 win.
