DAVID Patrick has some way to go to match his grandfather's York City exploits.
But the teenage Minstermen fan has at least secured a small place in the Bootham Crescent annals.
David, 16, from Woodthorpe, York, is the grandson of City legend Alf Patrick, a master craftsman of the City forward line from 1946 to 1953 when he plundered 117 goals in 241 appearances.
And by strange coincidence, David, a City season-ticket holder and former Junior Red, has now made his mark at City by becoming the 2,000th member of the Supporters' Trust.
To mark the occasion, David is poised to receive an autographed City football at tomorrow's match between the Minstermen and Exeter.
Making the presentation will be his grandfather, who was due to be a special guest at tomorrow's game alongside Norman Wilkinson and Gordon Brown, heroes of the 1955 FA Cup semi-final team.
Reaching the 2,000th membership milestone marks a significant achievement for the Trust. Last year membership was around 1,500 strong, marking it out as one of the best supported fan organisations in the country.
