Selby'S first mobile cinema will be launched at the town hall next month.
Using a DIY screen and projector, there will be a film for adults and older children on Friday, May 30, and two matinee films for youngsters on Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 29. The mobile cinema, dubbed "reels-on-wheels", will hit the town hall, in York Street, after Selby District Council allocated £25,000 to the project. District and town councillor Steve Shaw-Wright said the Wednesday matinee would be for under-12s and the Thursday matinee for over-12s. He said: "We plan to keep the mobile cinema at the town hall semi-permanently and hope to show at least one film a week over the summer."
