A York City fan has told the Evening Press she feared for her safety after being caught up in a hail of bottles after the club's match away to Lincoln City on Saturday.
Several York City fans claim they were pelted with bottles, coins and stones by Lincoln fans while walking from the ground to the railway station after York's 1-0 defeat.
Season ticket holder Julie Maycock, 45, of Water Lane, who was walking with her 64-year-old disabled mother, said a group of between 20 and 30 Lincoln fans threw alcopop bottles at York City supporters from where they were walking on the opposite side of a canal.
She said: "I've never seen anything like it, they were just throwing bottles. Cars were getting hit and bottles were going over people's heads and bouncing of houses.
Robert Havercroft, vice-chairman of York City AFC Supporters' Club, has written to Lincolnshire Police to push for an investigation into Saturday's events.
A spokesman from Lincolnshire Police said they had received the letter and would be taking appropriate action.
