SAND, wax, kerosene and cow dung. These are just a few of the media used by artists exhibiting their work in Kennedy's Caf Bar, York.
Artists from Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe are showcasing their talents after being approached in their homelands by York entrepreneur Matthew Aconley.
During his round-the-world trip, Matthew, 26, of New Earswick, visited various galleries to find work that appealed to him before tracking down the artists armed with only a map, notebook and hired bicycle.
He said: "I focused my investigations on uncovering contemporary artists whose work depicts certain aspects of a particular place or peoples."
The professionally hand framed paintings can be bought from £130.
