A STUDENT died when her mother drove into the path of a coach travelling at more than 60mph at the notorious A64 Bilbrough Top accident black spot, an inquest heard today.
Rachelle Ansell, 19, was a front seat passenger in a Peugeot, which was driven by her mother, Josyann, through the gap in the central reservation of the dual carriageway between York and Tadcaster.
The crash happened last September, at the location where the Evening Press has long been campaigning for closure of the gap.
Coroner Geoff Fell, recording a verdict of accidental death, said this was an "unsafe junction".
