VOLUNTEERS are requested to come and join in the conservation work at York Cemetery this weekend.
The next Action Day at the 24-acre site, off the city's Cemetery Road, takes place on Sunday, when the tasks to be tackled are likely to include clearing an area of brambles, or perhaps preparing ground for an attack on invasive Japanese knotweed.
Tools, stout gloves, drinks and biscuits will be provided. The core hours are 10am to 2pm, but volunteers can stay as long as they want.
Meet outside the Chapel of York Cemetery, Cemetery Road, or phone the warden, Vanessa, on 01904 610578.
