New Earswick All Blacks produced a thrilling display to beat Pudsey 34-20 in Yorkshire League division one.
From taking the lead in the 14th minute through Matt Geodfrey's try, converted by Carl Pallister, All Blacks never looked back, although Pudsey made sure they had to stay alert throughout.
Pallister cancelled out a Pudsey penalty with a successful kick of his own, before Simon Malarky set up Dean Thomas to power over.
Pete Knell was next to cross after being put clear by Malarky, who added the conversion, before Pudsey replied with a converted effort of their own.
Jo Jo Hnesh extended New Earswick's lead only for Pudsey to strike back again with another converted try.
A superb individual effort from Jamie Rhodes again looked to have killed off the Pudsey fight, only for the home side to cross for a converted score to move to within eight points at 28-20.
However, Alan Pallister's superb show and go saw the veteran cross for Malarky to convert.
Mark Boitolt was man of the match, followed by Jamie Rhodes.
YORK Groves completed a quick-fire double, their first of the season, over Boothtown Terriers with a 28-10 in Pennine League division four.
Player-coach Simon Moat was delighted with another fine display in which Paul Marshall, John Rushworth, Chris Smith and Martin Pitchford scored tries and Jason Dunn kicked six goals.
If the Terriers had shown this commitment throughout the season they would be higher placed but nevertheless the win will boost confidence ahead of tomorrow's York and District Cup semi-final against York Acorn.
