A GROUP of York craftswomen put their talents to good use when they raised more than £800 to help terminally-ill children.
The Village Quilters, who come from villages around York, spent eight months creating a quilt which they raffled off for Martin House Children's Hospice, near Boston Spa.
Each of the 20 members of the group, which meets at Askham Bryan village hall, contributed to the final creation which included 150 colours.
Through the sale of raffle tickets they raised £850 for the hospice.
Jean Graves who runs the group said she was really pleased with the amount of money they were able to raise.
