TWO York guitarists are cashing in on their city's growing reputation for rock.
Zak Heyes and Lloyd Massingham opened Rock-ola, a new specialist guitar shop, in Walmgate, on Saturday.
They reckon that they could drum - or even strum - up enough business to meet their target of £250,000 turnover in the first year.
They are doing what they can personally to keep up the rock 'n' roll frenzy. Both will remain as lead guitarists in their own York bands. Zak, once with local legend Stone Cold Sober, is now with rock outfit Gilt Trip. Lloyd plays with Rocket Three.
Promotional posters describe their new haven for York's rock and pop guitarists with its striking orange and blue decor as "your total guide to tonal enlightenment."
Apart from playing in bands, both men have worked in music stores since leaving school.
